La la ladies! Let's celebrate International Women's Day by getting together for a night dive at Little Beach in Nelson's Bay!! Meet at the Little Beach Carpark at 7 pm. Get in the water at approx. 8 pm. After the dive we will have a few bevvies at a nearby venue (tbc).   

Interested in exploring the amazing marine life around Newcastle but don't have your Diving Certificate?  Join NUDES club as a Snorkel member for only $15!! Snorkeling membership allows you to hire all of the equipment required for snorkeling such as a Wetsuit, Fins, Booties, Mask and Snorkel as many times as you want for the whole year (for one week at a time). You are also welcome to be involved in all of the social activities of the club. Come see what snorkelling is all about on Saturday 20th of March! After we will go for a drink and feed at Murray's Brewery :) BYO picnic blanket, towel, esky, tunes... Whatever you need for a fun day with new friends in the sun! Get your yearly membership and your first gear hire (free!!) on Tuesday 16th or Thursday 18th of March or at 10.30 am on the day, at the Gear Shed under The Forum.  Itinerary:  10.30 am meet at Gear Shed under The Forum  Convoy leaves Newcastle Uni at 11.15 am * 12 pm - 3 pm in the water and beach hangs  3 pm - 5pm Murray's brewery  Return to Newcastle by roughly 6 pm * Please get in contact if you would be happy to drive so we can organise car pooling :)  

Show off your brains at the monthly NUDES Trivia Night! This month we're at The Del on Monday night, where they're serving up a $15 Steak special! Please make sure you book a ticket here so that we can book enough seats, plus ones welcome. We will book a week in advance so tickets for this event will close one week before. Hello Nudies!  This year we are booking monthly boat dives for our members to try and get you diving more often! This event is for the 13/3/21   There are so many amazing dive sites! Two of our favourites are: Broughton Island (Nelson bay) and Moon Island (Swansea) All dives will be organised local to Newcaste (within 1hr drive)   How this will work: You must buy a ticket on this event which is a deposit of $10 to ensure enough numbers to book the dive. Once the event is closed the organising committee member will call the local dive shops to see what boats are available. Costs range from $100-$150 for a double (2 dives) boat dive. The organiser will then get everyone in contact by making a facebook group chat (email us if you don't have facebook). Here they will let you know what your options are for dive sites and then everyone can vote on where they would like to go! Other things that will be organised here is payment for the dive, car-pooling (if needed) and getting gear from the NUDES gear store. If you don't have transport please tick the "need a lift option", as this trip will likley rely on car pooling. Also - if you are getting a lift with someone I'm sure they will appreciate it if you chip in for fuel :). This is a weather dependent trip! Either way there will be Grey Nurse Sharks, rays, and all sorts of cool shit. THE PLAN! Meet at swansea RSL or boat ramp (will confirm soon), all ready to go for a 8:30am dearture. Dive 1: Moon Island... somewhere. probably the Arch, probably with sharks. Have a cup of tea, chill out... Dive 2: Moon Island... probably the Temple, probably with more sharks and awesome swimthroghs! Then go have a beer at the RSL :)

Hi All, If you're lucky enough to recieve this email then you're invited to a private tour of  the Major Projects Foundation (MPF) research boat! MPF is a marine research and conservation not-for-profit organisation with a focus on deploying engineering solutions to protect ecosystems and cultural heritage in the Pacific. The MV Ocean Recovery is a 43-metre dive support vessel, with berths for 28 people and a displacement of about 1000 tons. Welcome my new NUDIES, and congratulations of finishing the first  year of uni!!  Its time to celebrate with the old faithfull Seal Rocks Camping/Diving Trip! This trip will start on Friday 22nd of November, arriving at the gear store no later than 5pm to pack the gear and organise cars, and we should be back at the store at or before 5pm on Sunday 24th. This trip will involve two dives over two days at Seal Rocks, a shore dive to an island off a beautiful beach, an hour and a half drive up the coast.  This dive is quietly famous for it’s turtles, rays, dolphins and Grey Nurse, Port Jackson and Wobbegong sharks, so you’re bound to see something good on one or both of your dives! The dives will be led by our very own NUDES divers, who have dived the site more times than we can count, so any level of experience is welcome – we’ll look after you even if it’s your first dive out of training. In between dives, we’ll be camping at Treachery Camp site, and once curfew kicks in at 10, after dinner, we’ll commence our time-honoured migration to the nearest beach, where we will spend the rest of the night doing as uni student do. Studying. Obviously.… lel Next morning we strike camp, those of us who are feeling up to another dive will swim off our morning “sleepiness” from staying up late "studying", before re-loading the cars and heading home. Ticket price covers transport, food (dinner sat and brekkie sunday), camping fees and two air refills. As most people won't arrive to the camp site till friday night we let everyone grab dinner on the way up! :) We'll be carpooling, so if you've got a car you're willing to drive with passengers and/or gear, make sure to buy a "driver" ticket, so we know the numbers. Fuel will be reimbursed.  What to bring: - Towel and swimmers, sunscreen and hat. There are only two places to buy some limited food, so we will provide dinner and breakfast (we cater for vegan diets!), but you are resposible for any other food for the weekend. - Camping equipment: Tent, sleeping mat, sleeping bag, pillow.
