Start Semester 2 off in the most exciting way possible.... with a trip to the famous Fish Rock at South West Rocks!!! It's residents include grey nurse sharks, turtles, huge easter crayfish, bull and eagle rays, gropers, cod, Lion fish, cuttles and clown fish! They occasionally see bull and tiger sharks and also get visited annually by hammerheads, whales and other pelagics! This is a great dive for new and experienced divers alike! EVERYONE will dive Nitrox, as per the dive shop rules (you do not need to be certified Nitrox).  PLEASE NOTE: If you are a new or inexperienced diver, we suggest doing a few night dives to get used to being in dark water, as it can be intimidating. OR do as many dives as you can before the trip to get your experience up, and make sure you log them! If you are a very new diver it's possible that you may not be allowed to dive in the cave, however you will still have an incredible dive around the base of the rock and entrances to the cave.   About the area... There are some great food options around within a short driving distance, as well as the Gaol Ruins (which do cost to access) and the lighthouse walk!   About the trip...  There is a communal space with kitchenette, DVD player and pool table in the dorm-style accommodation where everyone will be staying for the two nights.  What You Get: TRANSPORT!! We will arrange car pooling into 3-4 cars, the drivers will then be reimbursed for fuel 2 nights accommodation in the dive lodge right above the shop - clean dorm style rooms and 2 bathrooms 2 days of double boat diving through the famous Fish Rock cave! 4 nitrox tanks (supplied by dive shop) Awesome gear wash facilities and storage below the lodge What to bring: A dive torch if you have one Towels Bathers and other stuff you might take with you when diving  Clothes Underwater camera if you have one Nausea medication (the trip to the rock can be rough in the boat) Dive Certification Card Itinerary (Times TBC): Friday Meet at the gear store Friday morning to get your gear sized and loaded in to the trailer Drive to SWR (roughly 4.5 hours North) Check in to dive shop Relax and eat some food! !!!!!! COMING THIS JUNE !!!!!! Its time to celebrate 2022 with the old faithfull Seal Rocks Camping/Diving Trip! DATES: Friday 24th to Sunday 26th of June YOUR TICKET PRICE INCLUDES: accommodation for two nights, full gear hire (including tanks for SCUBA peeps), 2 fully guided dives and a communal BBQ dinner on the Friday night!   This trip will involve multiple dives over two days at Seal Rocks, a shore dive to an island off a beautiful beach, an hour and a half drive up the coast. There will be freediving and SCUBA diving.  ***Note: if you are a freediver AND scuba diver you must choose one day to freedive and the other day to SCUBA dive, as it is unsafe to do both activities on the same day***   This dive site is quietly famous for it’s turtles, rays, dolphins, Grey Nurse, Port Jackson and Wobbegong sharks, so you’re bound to see something good on your dives! The dives will be led by our very own NUDES divers, who have dived the site more times than we can count, so any level of experience is welcome – we’ll look after you even if it’s your first dive out of training.   In between dives, we’ll be camping at Reflections Holiday Park, and when curfew kicks in at 10 pm we’ll commence our time-honoured migration to the nearest beach, where we will spend the rest of the night doing as uni student do. Studying. Obviously.… lel Reflections Holiday Park has great facilities: warm showers (great after a cold day of winter diving), fully powered campsites and BBQs galore!    Please note: your car will need to be parked outside the campground in the free street parking as there will be no space for members vehicles on the powered sites. We may be able to organise carpooling, so if you don't have a car or do not want to be a driver please LET US KNOW!   What to bring:   - Towel and swimmers, sunscreen and hat. BYO food and alcohol. There are only two places to buy some limited food, so bring enough food for yourself (or share with friends) for Saturday breakfast, lunch & dinner and Sunday breakfast & lunch. There are BBQ's at the campsite. We will provide some snack foods.   - Camping equipment: Tent or swag, sleeping mat, sleeping bag, pillow. We have a weekend full of diving planned around Nelson Bay, for NUDES members!   This event will be an extravaganza of diving, with Broughton Island SCUBA diving trips and freediving trips on either Saturday or Sunday. The option to go freediving on a line, or spearfishing, or SCUBA diving at any of the incredible local dive sites. PLUS there will be a Wave 1 Freediving Course running over the weekend!!   Certified Divers Freedivers!! We have recently secured dive buoys to practise freediving on a line. There will be opportunities to practise on the line, as well doing some snorkelling and underwater sight-seeing around the Bay. SCUBA Divers!! We have a few Dive Masters who have offerred to take people out on some guided dives. Fly Point, The Pipeline, wherever has good conditions is where we will go.   SO your not certified?
